ABOUT SMU LIT HACKATHON 2022

The SMU Legal Innovation and Technology (SMU LIT) Hackathon 2022 is back! It is the largest inter-varsity, 3-day hackathon held in Singapore, where students from all Institutes of Higher Learning in Singapore can compete to create legal technological solutions. Participants will compete in teams of 6 and will have to create a prototype solution with minimally basic functionalities. 

This year, we have our guest-of-honour Edwin Tong, Second Minister for Law and Loh Khum Yean, Permanent Secretary for Law gracing our event.

Attractive prize money totalling $11, 500 are up for grabs!

 

HOW TO REGISTER

Note that each team need only register once. The participant that registers for a team will be known as the Team Leader and the Team Leader will receive information about the Hackathon through their email.

Requirements

WHAT YOU WILL NEED TO SUBMIT

For coded solutions:

  1. GitHub link to your code
  2. Short 200-300 words write up about your solution
  3. 90-second video demonstration explaining how your solution will solve the problem statement

For non-coded solutions built using tessaract.io's software:

  1. Link to the executed prototype of your solution
  2. Short 200-300 words write up about your solution
  3. 90-second video demonstration explaining how your solution will solve the problem statement

  • Problem Relevance
    Consider whether the solution addresses the problem statement. TOTAL POINTS = 10
  • Practical Impact
    Consider whether the solution is beneficial, practical, scalable and sustainable to implement. TOTAL POINTS = 10
  • Functionality of Code
    Consider the extent to which the executed code can display the features of the solution proposed by the team. TOTAL POINTS = 20
  • Use of Advanced Technology
    Consider whether the solution uses advanced technologies such as Big Data, Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning, Robotic Process Automation, Virtual Reality/Augmented Reality, Blockchain, Internet of Things, etc. TOTAL POINTS = 15
  • Originality
    Consider whether the solution addresses the problem statement in a manner which exists in the industry or is something new and groundbreaking. TOTAL POINTS = 15
  • User Interface & User Experience
    Consider the user interface and user experience of using the solution from the perspective of the "end user". TOTAL POINTS = 15
  • Pitch
    During Masterchef Roaming. TOTAL POINTS = 15
